Fun Things To Do In Southern Indiana This Weekend 3/9/22



Looking for something fun to do in Southern Indiana this weekend?


Here are just a few of the things going on in the 812:


 

1. 49 Miles Of Misery


The Clark County Museum in Jeffersonville presents an exhibit commemorating the 10th anniversary of the tornado outbreak that struck Henryville and other parts of Southern Indiana. See pictures and watch a video detailing the events of that day and the destruction the tornadoes left in their paths. Hands on exhibits will simulate tornado level winds and the weight of hail. 3/12-13, Noon-6pm, Admission: Suggested Admission: $5.00 per person, $3.00 for seniors, military, students. Additional are donations appreciated!




2. Third Annual Wedding Show in Plantation Hall Huber's


Are you getting married in 2022 or know someone who is? Then visit the 3rd annual wedding show at Huber's Plantation Hall in Starlight, IN. Vendors for all of your wedding needs will be on hand with information and displays. If you need a place for your wedding or reception, you can tour Plantation Hall and reserve it for your special day.

3. Rock School Spring Showcase


Maxwell's House of Music is hosting their Rock School Spring Showcase at Parlour in New Albany. Seven bands will take the stage and perform musical sets covering a wide range of musical genres. Parlour will be serving up food and drinks to enjoy while you rock along with this mini music festival. Discounted tickets if you buy in advance. See link below.


3/13, 1pm-9pm, Tickets Required




4. Live Music featuring Jack Brizendine


Note: This is a Thursday night event. Parlour in Jeffersonville brings you live music from artist Jack Brizendine. Jack has a playlist that includes the best of rock and roll from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Parlour will be serving their well known pizza and drinks, to make this a great Thursday night event.


3/10, 6-9, Free Admission




5. Area Schools Present Spring Musicals


Several area schools are presenting their spring theater productions this weekend. Jeffersonville High School presents the musical Oklahoma, New Albany students are presenting The Music Man, Providence High brings you Shrek, The Musical, and Charlestown Middle School presents Law & Order: Fairy Tale Unit. BONUS EVENT:


Remarkable Women Tour at Culbertson Mansion


Wednesday, March 16th: The Culbertson Mansion is hosting a "Remarkable Women's Tour" at the mansion in New Albany. Learn about the women who lived in and cared for the house in year's past. Registration for this event is required at least 48 Hours in advance.


The event is on 3/16, 11am-Noon, Tickets Required
