Federal Grant Money Sitting And Waiting For Local Small Businesses

Do you own a small to medium sized business in the city of Jeffersonville ... or know someone who does?

The city has received a federal grant and they are seeking to use the money to help businesses struggling due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting restrictions.

Like other grant programs, you must apply and there are guidelines that must be met, but city officials say they have 25 grants remaining and only 5 applications have been submitted since the application window opened more than two weeks ago.

The date to submit an application has been extended to May 19th in order to give businesses more time to get their application turned in.

Per the city's website, businesses located within city limits with less than 100 employees are eligible for these funds that do not have to be paid back. The grant funds can be used to help support continuity of operations, as working capital, and/or to support remote work.

If you know of a business that can use the funds, please share. It appears that these funds may no longer be available if they are not claimed prior to the deadline. Check with the City of Jeffersonville for more details.
