Bad Credit May Be Costing Your More Than You Think
Julia King knows the realities of how a poor credit score can impact your life all too well. At 16-years old she got her first taste of how a bad credit can close doors when she went to apply for a cell phone plan and was denied.
Flash forward to today and Julia is now CEO of King Financial Repair, and is the only certified credit repair specialist in the state of Kentucky. After figuring out how to rebuild her own credit, she set out on a mission to help others learn about the ins-and-outs of the credit system and to help them open financial doors that have been closed.
Here is my interview with Julia where she shares about her background, how she helps people with bad credit, and she even gives some tips on what to do (and not do) to help keep your credit score healthy.
"When purchasing a home, the health of a client's credit can sometimes make the difference between whether they can actually buy a home or not. And certainly a lower credit score will add to the cost of home ownership due to higher financing fees and higher interest rates that add up over time", said Mike Schoonover, Lead Realtor with the 812 Living Group.
As Julia mentions in our interview, the three major credit reporting bureaus are allowing individuals to get a free copy of their credit report every week during the Covid-19 Pandemic. This will allow people to monitor their credit frequently and catch errors of fix problems before they get too big. Visit https://www.annualcreditreport.com to find out how to get yours.
"Healthy credit is critical to opening up financial opportunities in our society. So when a client comes to us with some dings on their credit, we don't just want to turn them away. We connect them with our expert partners like Julia and her team to help them get back on the right track", Schoonover said.
